Although the Solid Bump blog is often geared exclusively to our own artist roster, it’s not that we are not paying attention. We keep our Soundcloud pretty tidy and really only follow artist we think are A game players; when someone makes a comment or indicates a new favorite we try to listen. That is what this post here is about.
Below are a few tracks that we discovered through our Soundcloud network. All are amazing – few are people we know.
#1) The Jungle Brothers ‘I’ll House You’ ( Leo Zero Re-Work)
A rework of the hip-house classic that has been sampled ad nauseam for over two decades. Does it need a re-work? Yes, if nothing else just to cleanse the palette of the lackluster Kid Sister cover from last year.
**Bonus info: This is downloadable as a WAV file for free.
#2 Adonis – We’re Rockin’ Down the House (Tobias & Hardway Remix)
Another re-working of a all time classic. This one is on the official tip from the upcoming Trax 25th Anniversary compilation. By dropping the tempo to 115bpm and going head first into the dubbed samples – the track is a pure win. Add in the tasteful glided bassline and you have reason to be excited in 2011.
#3) ADAM FREELAND “SILENT SPEAKING” (DJ GARTH & ANTHONY MANSFIELD REMIX)
Here we have a bit more of a cosmic vibe from one of my early youth DJ heroes Garth. He coupled up with another SF favorite Anthony Mansfield to flip up this remix of Adam Freeland. I have not heard the original but I would be inclined to guess that it is much different. Ha.
