Got alerted yesterday that the White Girl Lust remix of Diamond Lights “What Have You” (Yes Yes Records) keeps appearing in some surprising (but welcomed) places. This time on Heavyfeet’s Winter Promo Mix. Check it on out!
Unfortunately there is no streaming link but here is the Mediafire link.
Last week we posted up that Bag Raiders had included a new White Girl Lust remix of Diamond Lightst on their latest mixtape. The timing was perfect as Yes Yes Records dropped the full EP today with additionall remixes from C.R.S.T., Isaac Tichauer, and a VIP Diamond Lights reworking.
The general vibe of this is a early 90′s hands in the air feel with soaring Strings of Life-esqe chords. Each remix retains that vibe consistently, all while adding their own twist on the era-centric sound.
Yes Yes Records has quickly became a favorite label at SBR HQ. Their sound is impeccable as is their in-house roster. Additionally with previous remixes from Todd Edwards, Azari & III, and many other great names – it is truly a label to watch.
Today I found out that the White Girl Lust remix of Diamond Light’s “What Have You?’ appeared on the latest mix from Australian super producers Bag Raiders. It’s a great mix and we are thrilled to be included. Peep the 36 minute mark for a taste of our remix.
Diamond Light’s “What Have You” drops Nov. 22nd on Yes Yes Records.
White Girl Lust sat down with Ghosts of Venice to discuss his new single “Her” on Solid Bump Records, doing time in the clink, his sexual preferences in the rave community, and his favorite tunes.
Dust Traxx is an infamous Chicago house label that was once home to Paul Johnson, Robert Armani, and many many more. The last few years has seen the label go a bit quiet compared to their peak in the late 90′s and early 2000′s. Enter Adulture (formerly of Le Principle) to save the day.

A few months ago Adulture took the reigns of the Dust Traxx relaunch. At first it may seem odd, that the young talent be put in charge of such a historic label, but his balance of knowing fresh new artist in the vein of the previous DT legacy and an honest respect for it’s heritage really makes him the perfect candidate.
The Shape of House to Come is the perfect compilation to the announce the new era of Dust Traxx, with some of the best new names in house as well as legends such as Dajae. Many Solid Bump affiliates are represented here, including Ghosts of Venice, White Girl Lust, Alona, and Adulture himself.
Lee Dunn (better known as Ghosts of Venice) has had a big year. After self-releasing his “I Learned From The Best” EP, he quickly caught the attention of the A&R teams at Defected, Strictly Rhythm, Dust Traxx, and of course, Solid Bump Records. In the months to follow he has lent his passion for jacked up Disco House to a slew of official remixes including Grum’s “Can’t Shake This Feeling” and James Talk & Ridney’s massive Ibiza summer anthem “Forever”. Solid Bump is proud to debut his first commercially available original track entitled “Her”. The song serves as a homage to the long days of a summer passed, with a highly swung laidback groove that keeps in perfect tow with the signature sound of Solid Bump.
The remix selection is a showcase of the exciting talent Solid Bump has in store in 2011, with a large portion of the label’s roster lending their spin on the single. White Girl Lust completely re-imagines the original as an epic piano house burner, complete with vocals from Alona. Chicago’s Bit Funk glosses the tune with his distinct synth-pop sheen. Meanwhile, Mix Chopin lives up to his name with a lively cut & paste session. The release is rounded out by the low-key vibes of Mykill & Meroz.
Fresh from last week’s exclusive Chemical Jump interview and mixtape, which garnered 1800+ plays in less than a week, White Girl Lust presents a top secret bootleg house dub of “Mesopotamia” – which was included in the mix. The original B-52′s track was the result of an arguably failed recording session with David Byrne as the producer. Tensions were high during these sessions and ultimately the idea of a full album was scraped. In our opinion (as well as many other people) the friction injected just enough nervous funk into the Athens New Wave band to be deemed a classic.
Here the founding duo of Solid Bump Records strip the original composition to it’s essence and reconstruct the track as a stomping dub for the dancefloor. The result is too reserved to be called “big room” but far too massive to be a categorized a “beard stroker” edit. Let’s split the difference and call it “Mid-Sized House”.
“OH SH*T SON” – Ghosts of Venice (Defected/ Strictly Rhythm) “√+” – Acid Jacks (Idiot House) “Really am loving the stripped-backed sound of this!” – Bit Thief (Plant Music) “Love it! My favorite B-52′s song of all time.” – Johnny Dynell (infamous 80′s disco DJ of M.U.D.D. Club & Danceteria. Tensnake recently remixed his CLASSIC 80′s hit “Jam Hot”)
This week fate pushed together Solid Bump and the amazing blog, Chemical Jump in many ways. First Adulture of Paper Cat fame did a exclusive guest mix. Then White Girl Lust hopped on the bandwagon and did an interview and exclusive mix.
