Solid Bump Posse is poppin up everywhere. Garrett Shrigley and Lee Dunn, better known by their artist monikers, Adulture and Ghosts of Venice have both been prolific as solo artists to date. 2011 will kick off their joint effort as Second City Rhythm. The two offered this track up for free this month to generate hype for a forth coming release on Dust Traxx. The Download is exhausted but the track is not. Top notch sampling and quality dynamics make this track a burner! Look for Adulture on Solid Bump’s Pleasure & Pressure 3 this february.
Sammy Bananas shows his way around his lovely little studio in this Pro Audio Store vlog (or whatever you kids call ‘em these days). If you notice, the main theme is none other than his “Paper Cat” remix. Big up the sax man.
Dust Traxx is an infamous Chicago house label that was once home to Paul Johnson, Robert Armani, and many many more. The last few years has seen the label go a bit quiet compared to their peak in the late 90′s and early 2000′s. Enter Adulture (formerly of Le Principle) to save the day.

A few months ago Adulture took the reigns of the Dust Traxx relaunch. At first it may seem odd, that the young talent be put in charge of such a historic label, but his balance of knowing fresh new artist in the vein of the previous DT legacy and an honest respect for it’s heritage really makes him the perfect candidate.
The Shape of House to Come is the perfect compilation to the announce the new era of Dust Traxx, with some of the best new names in house as well as legends such as Dajae. Many Solid Bump affiliates are represented here, including Ghosts of Venice, White Girl Lust, Alona, and Adulture himself.
This week fate pushed together Solid Bump and the amazing blog, Chemical Jump in many ways. First Adulture of Paper Cat fame did a exclusive guest mix. Then White Girl Lust hopped on the bandwagon and did an interview and exclusive mix.

Paper Cat fever continues! After rocking up Turntable Lab’s charts to #2, hitting Beatport’s Nu-Disco charts, and being selected as a “Must Hear Track” by the fickle Beatport editors – we drop a freebie on you.
Free Magic is one of the good people behind the infamous Discovery party at Santos NYC. In addition, the Discovery crew are shaping up to be a crew of producers to watch as well – as is displayed with this re-lick of Paper Cat.
That’s right… at long last Paper Cat has dropped. This is a release that has had an epic amount of hype behind it, so without further ado, here is what the pros are saying…
“Solid Bump does it again! Adulture & OCD Automatic’s “Paper Cat” just kills it on that funky disco house tip, with a HUGE sound that’ll tear up the club. Seriously, everything is banging on this track from the filtered loop, the drums, synths, bass and arrangement, perfect stuff to mix in with any house or disco set. The original is already so good, but they decide to throw you some excellent remixes too including a wicked version from Fool’s Gold artist Sammy Bananas who adds some nice sax work(!) and Levan-style synths over the top taking it even higher! Don’t forget to check the chilled out Bit Funk remix and the amped up and beat-repeated Phantom’s Revenge remix as well. Recommended.” – Turntable Lab Editors
“This is nastyyyyyyy… summer vibes gone wild!” – Drop The Lime (Trouble & Bass)
“Man that’s great! I played the Sammy Bananas Mix of Paper Cat – nice one!” – Stretch Armstrong (Plant Music)
“Really nice EP, feeling the acid house vibe of the Bananas one the most, will def give that a play!”
- Matt Walsh (Clouded Vision)
“Somewhere between Pryda and Bangalter, this release is as timeless, soulful, and as fresh sounding as anything I’ve heard this year.” – Emynd (Crossfaded Bacon)
“I love it. Been running the original version in all my sets. Sammy’s mix is definitely next level though.” – Thee Mike B
