yeah here was the cover, and i did the ‘live on haight tapes all at HouseWares or Something Else – don’t think i ever released a tape from The Top – but i ended up releasing 40 or 50 mixtapes and Cds before getting busy with ‘soulfood’ – with dj rasoul and ‘othersound music’ – with eddie richards… a fair amount of those were recorded at my undergrounds but when there were technical or scheduling problems i would record them at in-store appearances…

Furthermore, “Live on Haight”, I think was a marketing tool – as I think it was sourced from whatever live reccording the artist did when they were in town. But it could have been recorded at the infamous “Top” in the lower Haight, which is now “The Underground.” But you can always ask Mark E. Quark. You should know to ask me about any SF rave history, duh!

We sold these tapes (eventually CDs) at Housewares when I worked there with Ethan (Push) and Matty B in ’96-’99… “Live on Haight” was a mixtape series produced by HouseWares – the store, co-owned by artist Owen Maigrit, and he did most of the artwork for the tape covers. Everybody had a Live on Haight tape, some had 10 or 20 – Jeno, Garth, Simon, DJ Dan, Doc Martin, Mark E Quark, Mark Farina. http://ezeskankin.com/img/MarkEQuark_LiveHaight.jpg
