These last couple weeks have been a whirl wind! The SBR posse got a great chance to do a label showcase. Since we can never just stick to the easy way, we decided that we would develop a live show in 3 weeks that we knew we could only really practice a couple times all together. The result was AMAZING.
The event was last Wednesday at Vessel. By 10:30 the club was jumping hard. Alona eased them in before Mykill slayed them with disco house classics as a warm up to the live show.
By the time the live set was scheduled to start, things were bubbling. We started off with a few more synth driven joints (such as Back & Forth and our upcoming remix of Laberge’s “Funk Music”) and transitioned into the more disco sound. Mid-set we dropped a brand new disco joint and had opening DJ – Alona – join us to do a guest burlesque style appearance. That is what made the party go straight to the next level!
By the end, we brought up special guest Qzen to perform a song we wrote with the 40 Thieves. The track morphed into a short acid house freak out that closed the show. EPIC.
